Sorry about the lack of book reviews and blog posts lately. I've been really busy with work and trying to become less dependent on my laptop, but I'll start posting more after the holidays..:)

Self Publishing is Affordable

Self publication is a process that can be out of one's spending limit, but it is a worth while investment for writers who prefer to keep full creative reign of their works. Self publication consists of finding an online publishing house that allows self publishing in various forms. There are packages offered based on a writer's preferences and reasons for self publishing.

Self publishing does have various packages to meet one's price range and meet what a writer can afford, but the best packages for writers who hope to have wide publication are packages that offer publication to Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com since they are two of the most well known retailers.

Metamorphosis

Book: The Metamorphosis and other stories
By: Franz Kafka
“He thought back on his family with deep emotion and love. His conviction that he would have to disappear was, if possible, even firmer than his sister's. He remained in this state of empty and peaceful reflection until the tower clock struck three in the morning. He still saw that outside the window everything was beginning to grow light. Then, without his consent, his head sank down to the floor, and from his nostrils streamed his last weak breath.”
Franz Kafka, Metamorphosis

Franz Kafka was a writer whose work was mostly published after his death because many of his works were not entirely finished or to his expectations. The Metamorphosis  is quite possibly his most popular story and it is a thought provoking, introspective maze of Kafka's view of his role in his family through the use of allegories and symbolism.
